Starting off with an excellent piece of news! Linda Warren’s book, THE COWBOY’S RETURN, won the Greater Detroit RWA Chapter’s Booksellers’ Best Award in Dallas in the Long Contemporary category. She received a beautiful silver pin, a certificate and a gorgeous color copy of the poster displaying all the winners’ covers which will go to booksellers across the country. Linda reports feeling shocked, but none of her chapter-mates are!
Congratulations to Terri Thackston, who announces her novel, PERILOUS PASSIONS, is now available in print from Cerridwen Press.
Lorna Michaels won her category, Series Long Contemporary, in the Orange County Chapter RWA’s Book Buyer’s Best with her Silhouette Special Edition, A CANDLE FOR NICK. Awesome news, Lorna!
Christy Janisse, aka Brandy Jordan, announces that her e-book short story will be out very soon (date to be announced!). The book, titled MURDER AND THE MEDIA SPECIALIST, will be released by The Wild Rose Press, Crimson Rose line in the next few weeks. Christy is also working hard on the proposal requested by Kathleen Sheibling of Harlequin American and the request of partial from agent, Kevan Lyons. Fingers crossed for you, Christy.
Hot off the presses! Deeanne Gist’s novel, THE MEASURE OF A LADY, won the Romance category of the 2007 Christy Awards, which recognizes excellence in Christian fiction. This is Deanne’s second Christy, as she won last year with A BRIDE MOST BEGRUDGING! We are so proud of her! What an accomplishment. She shares even more news, received from her publisher: “COURTING TROUBLE made the Wal-Mart Best Seller Modular for JUNE 2007 (1 of about 30 titles) which has the best of the NY houses and select Inspirational titles – very competitive.” Congratulations, Deanne!

Tera Lynn Childs has news in multiples! She announces she is moving back to Houston–and back to WHRWA at the end of August. Secondly, her new website is now live: And finally, the release date for OH. MY. GODS. has been moved up from “Late Summer” to “Early May” 2008.
Applause for Sarah Castleberry, who came in second in the single title category of the Central Florida Romance Writers’ Touch of Magic Contest with her manuscript BEAUTY AND THE GEEK.
